Earlier this year, we got our first glimpse of the 2020 Ford Escape, which Ford promises will be the best-performing Escape to date. There are a range of engines available for the 2020 Escape:
- A new 1.5-liter EcoBoost, offered on S, SE, and SEL trims, creates 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, the Escape can tow up to 2,000 pounds.
- Also new is the 2.0-liter EcoBoost® engine, available on Titanium models. This engine cranks out 250 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, the Escape can launch from 0 to 60 miles per hour 10 percent faster than it could with the outgoing 2.0-liter, and it can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
- The 2020 Ford Escape is also available as a hybrid model with a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle hybrid engine, good for 198 horsepower.
- Finally, you can get the 2020 Escape as a plug-in-hybrid model with 30 miles of all-electric driving.
The 2020 Ford Escape also boasts several class exclusives, particularly in the safety department. For example, available Active Park Assist 2.0 and Evasive Steering Assist aren’t offered on any competing models. Ford Co-Pilot 360™ comes standard for the new Ford Escape.
The new 2020 Ford Escape will be available at Shults Ford soon. Call or visit to learn how you can be one of the first behind the wheel.
